As you know, Trevor Zegras' name has been mentioned numerous times in various trade rumors in recent weeks. Moreover, the star forward for the Ducks has been linked to the Montreal Canadiens by many observers, which quickly caught the attention of Quebec fans.

Understandably, many would love to see the former first-round pick join his good friend, Cole Caufield, with the Canadiens. After all, Trevor Zegras has a profile that would fit perfectly with the project put in place by Kent Hughes and Martin St-Louis:
- He is only 23 years old, which fits quite well with the CH's core.
- He is one of the most electrifying forwards in the entire Bettman circuit, capable of pulling off spectacular feints.
- Having accumulated 146 points, including 53 goals, in 200 NHL games, he is a constant threat in the offensive zone.
- He would instantly become a top choice to complete Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Kirby Dach, Juraj Slafkovsky, and Alex Newhook on the team's first two lines.

There is no doubt that if the Canadiens' General Manager, Kent Hughes, manages to acquire a forward of Trevor Zegras' caliber, the rebuilding process would take a significant step forward. Indeed, Martin St-Louis would finally have the necessary tools to create a lineup capable of bringing danger game after game.

Scoop from Renaud Lavoie Regarding Zegras' Future in Anaheim

However, while some observers have indicated that the Ducks' number 11 was available on the trade market, a turnaround has just occurred through Renaud Lavoie.
According to information reported by the TVA Sports journalist, the Ducks' GM, Pat Verbeek, has not officially placed Trevor Zegras on the market. However, Lavoie still added that a trade involving the star forward could potentially occur by the deadline on March 8th.
Given that Pat Verbeek is not absolutely looking to part with his former 9th overall pick, a General Manager, say Kent Hughes, would probably have to be willing to pay a high price to acquire him.
Certainly, the situation surrounding Trevor Zegras will remain a hot topic until the trade deadline, and you can be sure we will be on the lookout for new developments.
Do you think the Canadiens should include their 2024 first-round pick to try to add the center to their lineup?
