The worst is confirmed for Mike Hoffman
Mike Hoffman, former Montreal Canadiens forward, became an unrestricted free agent on July 1st, after spending the previous season with the San Jose Sharks.
Acquired by the Sharks in a three-team trade, notably to facilitate
Erik Karlsson's move to Pittsburgh, Hoffman did not receive a contract extension offer from San Jose.
Now 34 years old, he appears to be at a crossroads in his career. Despite the start of training camps, he has yet to receive an invitation, and *The Hockey News* suggests that his NHL career could be nearing its end.
Hoffman, known for his offensive skills but often criticized for his lack of defensive commitment, has seen his performance decline in recent years, partly due to injuries.
He recorded 23 points in 66 games in the 2023-2024 season, a significant drop for the former sharp-shooter.
