Alex Newhook has a major and special request for Martin St-Louis and the Canadiens

The forward, acquired from the Avalanche, suffered an injury early in the year but finished the season strong on the second line.

When Kent Hughes made the acquisition, the plan was clear: to have Newhook in the top-6 in the near future.

Newhook also has a special request for Martin St-Louis. The forward wants to play on the same line as the new arrival, Patrik Laine.

Newhook is known for his excellent puck distribution to his line mates. He could be an interesting playmaker for Laine, who is a goal scorer and a powerful shooter.

If Newhook plays center, does that mean Kirby Dach might move to the wing? Or could Newhook and Laine end up on the third line?

We'll find out during training camp. Coaches will clearly want to try various combinations to see how the players' chemistry works.
