Is Justin Barron about to leave the Canadiens for a high draft pick?

According to Mathias Brunet, the Canadiens might look to trade Justin Barron. In Montreal, he is positioned behind other defensemen, and Kent Hughes might not want to lose him for nothing on waivers.

The Montreal organization even considered trading him last year, aiming to secure a late first-round pick in return for Barron's services.

Once a first-round pick of the Avalanche, Barron's development has been slow, with only a few flashes of potential so far.

Teams like the Blue Jackets might find Barron appealing, possibly in a deal involving Jordan Harris, to give a young defenseman a more significant role in their defensive lineup.
