After several seasons in the KHL, former Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Islanders forward, Nikolay Kulemin, 38, is attempting an unexpected return to the NHL.

With 669 games played in the North American league, he had left for Russia in 2018.
The Ottawa Senators recently offered him a professional tryout, giving him the chance to compete for a spot on the team.
Although his mission is challenging, there are some openings in the team's bottom-six.
Thus, Kulemin could potentially return to the NHL on a third or fourth line.
With Shane Pinto and Ridly Greig already well-established, other positions are up for grabs.
Defenseman Calen Addison has also been offered a tryout. Therefore, Kulemin's story will be an intriguing one to follow during the Senators' training camp as he aims to reconnect with top-level hockey.
