Filip Zadina, the forward selected 6th overall in the 2018 draft, has made a significant decision about his professional future.
Despite interest from several NHL teams, including the
Montreal Canadiens, Zadina has chosen to sign a contract in Switzerland.
According to Kevin Weekes, three NHL teams were in the running to offer him a professional tryout (PTO), but Zadina opted for a guaranteed contract abroad.
This choice is surprising given his caliber, as he could have secured an NHL contract.
At 24 years old, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds, Zadina has accumulated 91 points in 262 NHL games.
We wish him the best in his new Swiss adventure, even though it means he won't be playing against the Canadiens.
