Ivan Demidov, the Canadiens' first-round pick in June, is showing a strong interest in learning French, aware of its importance in the Montreal market.

The 18-year-old forward revealed to RG.org that he had begun learning the language of Molière on his own, by watching videos on YouTube.
Although he finds pronunciation challenging, he is determined to master both French and English, the latter being easier for him.
Currently with SKA Saint Petersburg, Demidov is also preparing for a future career as a coach.

He is in his second year at Lesgaft National State University, where he is studying sports coaching.
