During the busy period of professional tryout contracts in the NHL, Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens might have signed a player.

Rumors surfaced this Sunday about Cameron Whynot, a 21-year-old defenseman whose name appeared in the Canadiens' lineup on various sites, including Yahoo Sports.
Although the Canadiens have not yet confirmed this information, some sources claim that a professional tryout contract has been signed.
Whynot, a third-round pick by the Calgary Flames in 2021, stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 181 pounds.
He spent four full seasons playing with the Halifax Mooseheads in the QMJHL.
If this signing is confirmed, it could be an interesting depth option for the Canadiens' defense, or possibly for the Laval Rocket.
Stay tuned.
