The NHL Alumni Association has announced that former Montreal Canadiens defenseman Larry Trader has passed away at the age of 61.

Trader was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in 1981 and later played with the St. Louis Blues before ending his NHL career with the Canadiens.
In total, he played 91 regular season games, recording 18 points.
In addition to his NHL career, Trader played for the Sherbrooke Canadiens and the Canadian national team.
During his time in Montreal, Trader skated alongside hockey legends like Guy Carbonneau, Patrick Roy, and Larry Robinson.
His passing at a relatively young age saddens the hockey community.
The NHL Alumni Association has extended its condolences to Trader's family and loved ones. His contributions on the ice and his commitment will be remembered by the world of sports.
