Michael Pezzetta Traded to Canadian Rival? Insider Makes a Major Statement
The Vancouver Canucks are currently the number one team in the NHL standings.
The opportunity to win a championship is very real for this Canadian organization, and GM Patrik Allvin understands that he needs to make the necessary additions to help his team go far.
After acquiring Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm this season, it seems that shopping might not be over for the Canucks.
Michael Pezzetta is a name to watch in Vancouver
According to the popular site Canucks Army, Michael Pezzetta is a target for the team to fill a significant need on the 4th line, to add toughness and "grit" to the Canucks.
For the Canadiens, this would be a great opportunity to offload a contract from their organization, as the fiery CH forward still has one season left on his current deal.
As we have seen a few times over the last two seasons, when the team's lineup is healthy, Pezzetta acts at best as a 13th forward.
Given that we're talking about a return being a fourth-round pick, considering he may not make the cut next year with several young players fighting for a spot in Montreal, it might be worth thinning out the team's fourth line a bit with his departure.
It must be said, although he provides pride to the best of his abilities, I highly doubt that Pezzetta is part of Kent Hughes's long-term plans.
In 44 games this season, CH's number 55 has accumulated three goals and 10 points, which is still an interesting performance for a player who averages less than eight minutes per game.
