As the regular season draws to a close, fans of the Montreal Canadiens are increasingly focusing on the Macklin Celebrini lottery and the 2024 NHL Draft.

Just a few moments ago, we finally received information about the timing of this much-anticipated lottery.
Given the recent struggles of the Canadiens, this event is highly awaited by the fans of the Montreal organization, who are eager to see Kent Hughes add a top-tier forward to Martin St-Louis's lineup.
Indeed, according to information reported by Frank Seravalli, the Macklin Celebrini lottery is likely to take place on May 6th or May 7th.
"Always a fluid situation, but everything indicates that the plan is for the 2024 NHL Draft Lottery to be held on May 6th or May 7th. The NHL is still working on playoff scheduling and looking for the appropriate TV window." - Frank Seravalli

Of course, this date could change depending on the Stanley Cup Final schedule, but you can already mark these two dates in your calendar.
With the Canadiens currently in the sixth spot (in the reverse standings), Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton have a 7.5% chance of landing Lane Hutson's teammate, Macklin Celebrini, who will undoubtedly be the first player selected at the Bridgestone Arena.
While the chances of the Canadiens drafting first overall in the 2024 class are slim, it doesn't change the fact that the team's management will be able to add a highly talented player to its roster. Among the names that might interest the management are forwards Ivan Demidov, Cayden Lindstrom, Cole Eiserman, and Berkly Catton.
Regardless of the General Manager's choice, it appears that the Montreal Canadiens will be in a position to acquire a quality player. We sincerely hope that they will prioritize a forward to energize Martin St-Louis's top-6, but the idea of acquiring an exceptional defenseman could also be very appealing.
This is a situation to watch closely!
