Just a few hours before his first game back with the Montreal Canadiens, head coach Martin St-Louis held a very emotional press conference this afternoon.
He made several interesting statements, including expressing his happiness to be back with the team, particularly because things are better at home.
"I'm happy to be back for many reasons. The main reason is that things are stable at home. It hasn't been an easy week, but I'm happy to be back because it's my passion, my passions are my family and hockey (in that order), so it's nice to come back because things are better." - Martin St-Louis
The coach added that the support he received during this difficult period was exceptional, coming from the organization, the players, and even the league.
"The last 10 days have reminded me why I fell in love with hockey. It's not just the sport on the ice; it's everything it brings. It's a community. The support I've received, across the league, from my team, from my players, is something you can't buy. It's special." - Martin St-Louis
Martin also sent a huge dose of love to his wife, Heather, who greatly contributed to his return to the team.
"I have a good team here, but I have a very good team at home too. I have huge admiration for my wife; she handled everything so well." - Martin St-Louis
Now that everything seems to be back to normal, we can focus on the end of the season, much to Martin St-Louis's delight.
