Since the new leadership took over with the Canadiens, depth has become a crucial aspect of the organization.

The Laval Rocket has just announced the signing of a new goalie to provide additional insurance in net for the Canadiens' AHL affiliate.
Luke Cavallin has agreed to a one-season contract with the Rocket. Last year, he played 9 games with the Toronto Marlies in the AHL.
«At 23 years old, the 6'2" right-hand shooter with a weight of 196 lbs, recorded a 3-4-2 record with the Toronto Marlies in the AHL last season. He posted a goals-against average of 3.01 and a save percentage of .884 during that period.

Originally from Swindon, England, Cavallin also played for the Newfoundland Growlers (ECHL) last season. The goalie had a goals-against average of 2.95 and a save percentage of .915.»

He will support goalies Jakub Dobes and newcomer Connor Hughes. Having a trio of goalies in the AHL is always advantageous.
Luke Cavallin also has a two-way contract, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him play a few games with the Trois-Rivières Lions in the ECHL.
