Pierre-Luc Dubois hits a new rock bottom with the LA Kings

The Los Angeles Kings have made a disheartening announcement regarding Pierre-Luc Dubois. It appears he has truly hit rock bottom with his new team.
Indeed, the organization confirmed last night that the Quebecois forward's presence in the top 9 was over, as he has been officially relegated to the fourth line. Ouch!
Here is the Kings' lineup from yesterday:
Byfield - Kopitar - Kempe
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson
Fiala - Lizotte - Lewis
Laferriere - Dubois - Thomas
Anderson - Doughty
Gavrikov - Roy
Englund - Spence
Talbot
Rittich
Nothing is going right for Dubois in L.A.
During the game against the Calgary Flames, the Ste-Agathe-des-Monts native was only used for 12 minutes and 49 seconds. He was the third least used player on the team.
It's noteworthy that he is the third highest-paid member of the Kings and will be earning $8.5 million annually for the next seven years.
To give you an idea, PLD's playing time is comparable to that of Rafaël Harvey-Pinard in Montreal. Even Tanner Pearson, who has been frequently benched in recent weeks, has a higher average playing time than what number 80 for the Kings received yesterday.
In 79 games this season, he has scored 15 goals and 39 points, ranking 8th among the team's scorers. This speaks volumes about the failure of his first season in a Kings uniform.
Dissatisfaction is currently very palpable in Los Angeles, and it will be interesting to see if the organization takes drastic measures during the offseason to either get rid of him or to reboot his career.
It seems that Kent Hughes and the Canadiens may have dodged a bullet by declining to acquire him after multiple negotiations with the Winnipeg Jets last summer.
