In breaking news, Lane Hutson officially decided whether or not he'll sign with the Montreal Canadiens.

Elliotte Friedman confirmed the news on X in a recent post:
"Lane Hutson is indeed joining the Montreal Canadiens"

Hutson, drafted 62nd overall by the Habs in 2022, has been dominating the NCAA for the past two seasons.
His team was eliminated yesterday from he Frozen Four by the Denver University, despite big efforts in the game from the defenseman.
Hutson has smashed a lot of NCAA records and is set to become a top player in the NHL. Experts compared him to Adam Fox and even Cale Makar on certain occasions.
"Lane Hutson easily surpasses the statistics of Cale Makar during their respective rookie seasons in the NCAA!"

"Notable point-per-game outputs by freshmen defensemen in NCAA history - all in their D+1 seasons:

• Brian Leetch 1.27
• Lane Hutson 1.28
• Adam Fox 1.14
• Luke Hughes 0.95"

With Logan Mailloux, David Reinbacher, Kaiden Guhle and Arber Xhekaj, the Habs' defensive unit will be one of the most tough to play against the the NHL in a few years.
More to come.
