Shocking Development: Josh Anderson Trade Coming Imminently?
Josh Anderson's case has been a talking point this year as he's experiencing a disastrous season.
Considering the huge interest in his services last year, the Canadiens likely missed a golden opportunity to offload his contract and get a profitable return for their power forward.
With the performances he's showing this year, with only eight goals and 17 points in 57 games, many observers believed that the Habs would now be stuck with Anderson until the end of his contract in the summer of 2027.
New development regarding the market for Anderson
To everyone's surprise, despite his terrible performance, it seems that the hopes of seeing a trade to free up the number 17 from the Canadiens' lineup are still very much alive.
According to information reported by David Pagnotta, several teams are still keeping an eye on the 29-year-old veteran.
"There are teams looking at Josh Anderson, and there have been internal discussions across the league." - David Pagnotta
In short, Pagnotta stated on TSN that the market for Anderson hasn't really changed since last year. His case is being discussed internally by a few teams who believe that a change of scenery could revive him.
He adds that the potential return the Canadiens could get would not be as significant as last year, given his performance and his salary of $5.5 million for three more seasons.
However, the informant specified that he did not see a trade materializing by March 8 for him, but that discussions would become serious again during the offseason.
