Canadiens Insider Hints at Arber Xhekaj Being Involved in Blockbuster Trade

Surprisingly, despite his good performances, Arber Xhekaj's name has been recently mentioned in various trade rumors.

Although fans have no desire to see the "sheriff" leave Montreal, some observers believe he could be an important piece in a package aimed at adding a top-6 quality forward.

This was notably mentioned by Renaud Lavoie during his daily column on BPM Sports. He brought up the case of Trevor Zegras to make his point, adding that the Ducks would minimally want Arber Xhekaj in the package that the Canadiens' general manager could offer.

Indeed, he is convinced that other general managers will demand that number 72 be part of the discussion if they agree to give up a top forward, which is currently targeted by Kent Hughes.
