The NHL Players Assocation Confirms Corey Perry's Verdict Following His Termination
One of the topics that have stirred much ink in the NHL this year is undoubtedly the saga involving former Montreal Canadiens forward Corey Perry.
Indeed, following an event involving alcohol and an organization employee, the Chicago Blackhawks suddenly terminated the veteran's contract. It's worth remembering that this situation also led to much speculation regarding the real reason behind his dismissal.
However, according to what was circulating behind the scenes, number 94 had filed a complaint last month for wrongful termination. Yet, this famous grievance was never actually filed, as the NHL, the NHL Players' Association, the Blackhawks, and Corey Perry's camp ultimately reached a financial settlement in the last hours.
It appears there's a small salary cap charge coming for the Blackhawks following the agreement between Chicago, Corey Perry, the NHL, and the NHLPA after what Perry's camp alleged to be an inappropriate contract termination.

This means that this story is now a thing of the past!
An agreement has officially been reached between the four concerned parties. It is noted that the amount of the penalty awarded to the Chicago Blackhawks has not yet been publicly disclosed at this time.
Moreover, according to information reported by Elliotte Friedman, a very important element was also added to the agreement. Indeed, the incident in question cannot be used as a precedent in conversations leading to a possible contract termination in the future.
This is excellent news for the forward!
Since his arrival with the Edmonton Oilers, Corey Perry has scored two goals and provided five assists in 20 games, bringing his total to 16 points in 36 matches so far this season.
