It's not the first time we've talked about it, but it continues to be difficult for traditional television channels. Even at RDS, it's not easy these days.
According to the always well-informed Maxime Truman, the Quebec sports network could proceed with other fairly significant cuts.
Here's what one of the Stanley25 podcast hosts reports via his X/Twitter account:
"INFO: RDS will make further cuts.
According to my information, 25 to 35 positions of permanent unionized technicians (out of 90) are at stake.
If employees agree to reopen the collective agreement, it will be 25. Otherwise, 35.
A (heated) union meeting is scheduled for tonight." - @MaximeTruman"
So, it would affect technical positions, behind the camera, but the impacts are also damaging for the network, but especially for the people affected.
However, there is still an alternative, according to Truman's information.
Unfortunately, the current context of Quebec sports media is really not in the best situation. You know about TVA Sports' situation, but RDS is also in the same boat.
