Major turnaround for Shane Wright: what is going on?

Now out of the playoff race, the organization has finally decided to give the 20-year-old center a real chance, and he is seriously confirming his place with the team.

After three games since returning to the Kraken, Wright has totaled three goals and four points.

What's most striking, however, is that he is now being used as the team's second-line center, alongside Jaden Schwartz and Jordan Eberle, two important members of the lineup.

Moreover, unlike his first three-game recall to Seattle this year, where he played between 8 to 10 minutes per game, this time, his coach is using him for an average of 16 minutes, which is a striking contrast.

The Kraken has finally understood that they needed to give him a real opportunity to prove himself, which could not be the case before when playing on a fourth line as before.

What's also fascinating is that Seattle has shown extreme patience with another important young player in the organization, Matthew Beniers, who, despite a very difficult second campaign, continued to be the team's most-used forward.

We're very happy for him that he can finally demonstrate his potential, and it would be surprising to see him back in the AHL next year.

In 56 games this season with the Kraken's AHL affiliate, Wright scored 20 goals and had 43 points. He also has four goals and six points in 14 NHL career games.
