The Montreal Canadiens are gearing up for the crucial free agency period. While some forwards have already signed, other interesting players will be available.

Among them are names like Steven Stamkos, Elias Lindholm, Jonathan Marchessault, and a few others.
Regarding Marchessault, it's confirmed. According to Pierre LeBrun, the Conn Smythe Trophy winner will be free as a bird starting at noon.
It appeared that the Canadiens were interested in Patrick Kane's services before he extended his contract with the Red Wings. Could Marchessault be an option for the Habs?
The Quebecois forward just had his best career season with 42 goals, and he still has a lot of good hockey to offer an NHL franchise.
A product of the Quebec Remparts, Marchessault has previously mentioned his desire to be coached by one of his inspirations, Martin St-Louis.
At 33 years old, it would be surprising to see Kent Hughes offer him a contract longer than 4 years. The annual salary will also be crucial as this marks an important moment in Jonathan Marchessault's career and future.
A story worth following closely...
