According to multiple sources, the star forward is reportedly on the verge of reaching an agreement with the Nashville Predators. There's talk of a 4-year contract between Steven Stamkos and the Preds.
All signs point to Stamkos leaving Tampa Bay. If this materializes, the Lightning will need to appoint a new captain.
Stamkos just wrapped up a season with 40 goals and 81 points. He's aging like fine wine and could certainly alter the offensive landscape for some NHL teams.
