Recently, we learned more detailed information about the injury suffered by Carey Price, which unfortunately ended his career prematurely.
Dr. David Mulder of the Montreal Canadiens held a very interesting press conference and was very transparent about what really happened with the famous number 31.
In relation to the injury that prevented him from getting back on the ice after the Stanley Cup Final, the doctor revealed that there was an unexpected development during Price's surgery.
"It was very frustrating for us and doubly so for him. We realized that he had two injuries," explaining that it was during a first surgery that they had the very bad surprise of discovering a second major injury.
Mr. Mulder mentioned that there was an even more significant injury hidden, which definitely caused the end of his career.
"He was injured in the meniscus, so we sent him to New York for surgery and during that, the surgeon noticed that the femur had lost all its cartilage. It was a surprise and it's what ended his career."
