MAJOR: The visions of the Blackhawks and the Blue Jackets help the Canadiens
The Canadiens are once again drafting in the 5th position in the draft, but they will once again have to cross their fingers to see certain players available when it's their turn to choose.
However, some indications suggest that the Canadiens could still see forwards they have targeted available with the 5th overall pick in the first round.
In the most recent simulated draft by "The Athletic," the Blackhawks with the 2nd pick and the Blue Jackets with the 4th choice are drafting defensemen. Well, it's worth what it's worth.
However, former scout and founder of "Recrutes.ca," Grant McCagg, mentioned that he had heard through the grapevine that the Hawks and the Jackets could well be heading towards defensemen for their first-round picks.
That's what he said on the always interesting "The Sick Podcast with Tony Marinaro."
In summary, if Chicago and Columbus do indeed take defensemen, a prospect like Ivan Demidov or very likely Cayden Lindstrom could still be available when the Canadiens take the stage in Vegas.
