Mitch Marner, the star player of the Toronto Maple Leafs, could be traded this summer, according to several journalists including Frank Seravalli.
Seravalli stated on SN590 that Toronto does not plan to offer Marner a contract extension, thereby opening the door to an imminent trade, possibly this week.
Kent Hughes, GM of the Canadiens, has already completed major transactions with Brad Treliving, the current GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Despite the divisional rivalry with Toronto, the idea of acquiring Marner has been discussed for several months. Marner, aged 26, has been highly productive with impressive point totals over the past six seasons.
