In the absence of Martin St-Louis, who is currently with his family in the United States, interim head coach Trevor Letowski has decided to make several changes to his lineup for the upcoming game against the Seattle Kraken.
Indeed, the 24-year-old American goaltender, Cayden Primeau, will officially make his third start since the trade involving Jake Allen and the New Jersey Devils. After an exceptional performance against the Columbus Blue Jackets, the goalie unfortunately allowed five goals on 28 shots against the Calgary Flames.
He will surely aim to bounce back after this challenging game, as he continues to prove to the Montreal management that he is an NHL-caliber goalie. In his first full season in the NHL, Primeau has compiled a record of 6-7-2, with a goals-against average of 2.97 and a save percentage of .905.
Furthermore, Trevor Letowski also confirmed to journalists that defenseman Jayden Struble and forward Jesse Ylonen will reclaim their spots in the Tricolore lineup. Johnathan Kovacevic and Tanner Pearson, on the other hand, will be sidelined for tonight's game.

It raises the question of whether these changes were made by Trevor Letowski, or if it was Martin St-Louis, from the United States, who asked his counterpart to leave Tanner Pearson and Johnathan Kovacevic out following their difficult game against the Vancouver Canucks.
Recall that the «new» head coach of the Montreal Canadiens recently mentioned that Martin St-Louis, despite the distance, was heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of the team, still having a say in the various decisions made by Trevor Letowski.
