Major Turnaround for Injured Canadiens Forward Christian Dvorak?
Once again this season, the Montreal Canadiens have had to deal with a significant number of injuries, including several long-term ones, with Kirby Dach and Christian Dvorak among them.
While the timeline for Dach's return to play remains unknown, there could be a major turnaround for Dvorak.
Indeed, the CH's number 28 is currently working very hard to defy the odds and make a return to play before the end of the regular season, even though his season was supposed to be over according to the initial announcement by the organization.
Renaud Lavoie mentioned the following about the 28-year-old American:
«His personal goal is quite clear, it's to return to play by the end of the season.» - Renaud Lavoie
According to the journalist, he added that Dvorak wishes to «force the hand of the medical group and the Canadiens to reinsert him into the lineup.»
It will be interesting to see how he will perform if he does make a return this season. He will officially start the last year of his deal worth $4.45 million next year, meaning he has a lot to prove if he wishes to secure a significant contract in the summer of 2025.
Unfortunately for him, the past few seasons will not serve him well in future contract negotiations, having been limited to seven points in 25 games this year, and to 28 points in 64 games last year.
One thing is certain, Dvorak is not part of Kent Hughes' long-term plan, and it is highly likely that if he has a good campaign next year, the general manager of the Tricolore might take advantage of it to get a return on him.
