Journalist Allan Mitchell, who covers the Edmonton Oilers, has raised the possibility of a trade with the Montreal Canadiens involving Justin Barron.
Broberg, a 23-year-old Swedish left-handed defenseman, is 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 212 pounds. He accumulated 38 points in 49 AHL games and performed impressively in the recent playoffs.
Mitchell believes that this trade could interest Canadiens' general manager Kent Hughes, although it does not completely address Montreal's surplus of defensemen. Ultimately, he thinks that Broberg is better than Barron and could improve the team.
