We learned in the last few hours, via La Poche Bleue, that Quebec defenseman Miguel Tourigny is leaving the Montreal Canadiens to continue his career in Europe.
Today, it was announced that Tourigny has signed with Vlci Zilina, a team in the Slovak Extraliga.
At 22 years old, this 5'8", 170-pound right-handed defenseman was selected by the Canadiens in the 7th round of the 2022 draft. Last season, he recorded 38 points, including 9 goals and 29 assists, in 61 games with the Trois-Rivières Lions in the ECHL.
Given the strong competition among the many talented young defensemen in the Canadiens' organization, this decision seems beneficial for his career.
