Major trade proposal involving the Canadiens and the Predators

The rumor mill quickly went into overdrive. Askarov's name has already been linked with the Canadiens.

Askarov is currently behind Juuse Saros with the Preds. He has made it clear that he will not return to the American Hockey League this season.

In fact, he plans to hold out and will not attend training camp until he is traded.

A proposal from hockey blogger Marc-Olivier Beaudoin has stirred up a lot of discussion. He suggests a trade that would send Logan Mailloux and prospect Jacob Fowler to Nashville.

In return, the Canadiens would acquire Askarov as well as Zachary L'Heureux, a Québécois chosen in the first round of the 2021 draft.
