The Montreal Canadiens are preparing for the opening of free agency, as well as for the development camp scheduled for this week.

The prospects recently drafted by the Habs will all be at this camp immediately following the draft. The only absence will be their first-round pick Ivan Demidov, who does not yet have a Canadian visa.
Another well-known name among fans will also be absent. Lane Hutson will not be there, as the Canadiens organization has suggested he stay home.
The defenseman had a very busy and long hockey season with NCAA, the end-of-season tournament, the World Junior Championship, and two end-of-season games in the NHL.
However, Lane Hutson will participate in the rookie camp. It will be interesting to see where the Canadiens' management intends to place him next season. Straight into the NHL? Starting with the Rocket and a later call-up? All scenarios are currently being considered.
"Lane Hutson has stated that he will not participate in the Canadiens' development camp this week. He was advised not to do so. He will be at the rookie camp, but the Canadiens want him to rest." - Arpon Basu
