A very amusing moment occurred last night when Juraj Slafkovsky's father, Juraj Sr, was at the Bell Centre to see his son achieve his first three-point game in the NHL.
After the game, young Juraj brought his father into the locker room for a nice moment with him and the rest of the team.
Juraj Sr made a big blunder in the Canadiens' locker room
Unfortunately, Slaf's father made a mistake by stepping on the one place where he should not have, on the Canadiens logo on the floor. The reaction reported by Arpon Basu of number 20 is hilarious.
"The Canadiens cover their logo with a carpet when the media are present. Once the room is empty, the carpet is removed.
And that's what they did last night, too.
Juraj Slafkovsky then brought his father into the players' room. You'll never guess where he stepped. Junior Slaf panicked."
This means that inadvertently, the dad of the 2022 first overall pick stepped on the famous logo on the floor, which is seen as sacrilege in the sports world.
"The journalist here refers to the NHL's unwritten rule #16 published by The Athletic, which states that you should never, but absolutely never, under any circumstances, step on the team logo on the floor in the players' locker room. (which Mr. Slafkovsky did yesterday inadvertently)" - William Nadeau, via Habs et LNH
Obviously, it's nothing serious, but the story is quite amusing, especially seeing the reaction of the 19-year-old player.
Slafkovsky is likely to hear about his father's little blunder in the locker room for a long time...
