Jean-François Houle's successor to be named soon?
John Sedgwick, General Manager of the Laval Rocket, announced today that Head Coach Jean-François Houle has decided, in mutual agreement with the team, to step down from his position to seize a professional opportunity at Clarkson University in the NCAA, where he began his career.
Houle, whose relationship with Clarkson is deep, having played and served as an assistant coach there, views this new position as a natural continuation of his career path.
The Rocket thus finds itself without a head coach at the dawn of summer, allowing management the necessary time to select an appropriate successor.
Pascal Vincent, recently released by Columbus, is among the potential candidates, according to Anthony Marcotte, play-by-play announcer for the Rocket on BPM Sports.
Other notable candidates include Stéphane Julien, Sylvain Favreau, Gilles Bouchard, Louis Robitaille, Éric Veilleux, Carl Mallette, Bruce Richardson, and if we're dreaming, Guy Boucher.
