Montreal Canadiens: It has just been confirmed for Anthony Mantha
Quebec forward Anthony Mantha announced on RDS that he will be a free agent in 10 days, an interesting development for the Montreal Canadiens.
General Manager Kent Hughes is looking for a top-tier forward without sacrificing young talent or draft picks. At 29 years old, Mantha becomes a viable option among free agents, alongside players like Tyler Toffoli.
Present at Julien Gauthier's golf tournament, Mantha confirmed to journalist Catherine Savoie that he will not be returning to the Vegas Golden Knights.
Mantha, who was traded to Vegas for draft picks, scored 10 points in 18 games with the Golden Knights this season, and 34 points in 56 games with the Washington Capitals.
In his career, he has nearly 300 points in 494 NHL games.
At an estimated cost of less than two million dollars per year, Mantha could be a strategic addition for the Montreal Canadiens.
