Gary Bettman has just delivered a solid slap in the face to Kent Hughes
Gary Bettman and the NHL have announced some bad news for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens, complicating their plans for a surprise in 2025.
The new schedule reveals that the Canadiens will be among the most disadvantaged teams in terms of travel and fatigue.
According to TVA Sports, despite their geographic proximity to other Canadian and northern U.S. teams, Montreal will have to travel approximately 69,684 kilometers next season, nearly 17,000 kilometers more than the Ottawa Senators.
This significant disadvantage could affect the team's performance, particularly due to accumulated fatigue.
The Canadiens are notably further from other Eastern teams, which generally travel less.
The Pittsburgh Penguins, on the other hand, will be the best off, with only 51,016 kilometers to travel.
This situation will add an extra challenge for the Canadiens players, despite their youth and energy.
