Are the Canadiens about to hire a veteran coach to assist Martin St-Louis?
Since Alex Burrows' departure, the position of assistant coach next to Martin St-Louis remains open.
However, the Canadiens might opt for a three-coach setup behind the bench.
Stéphane Robidas, who handles the defensemen, and Trevor Letowski, who focuses on the offense, are still present to support Martin St-Louis.
According to some rumors, the former Lightning star might take over the power play duties next season. This was previously handled by Alex Burrows, but it wasn't a strong point for the Canadiens.
On the "Sick Podcast" with Tony Marinaro, Philippe Boucher mentioned that an experienced coach would be beneficial for the team.
Martin St-Louis is still relatively young as an NHL head coach and would benefit from having a mentor like Jacques Martin, who was with the Senators. This is the example Philippe Boucher provided.
Pascal Vincent will be leading the Laval Rocket, but a veteran like Martin or even Gerard Gallant, whose name has been mentioned in Montreal, could assist the Canadiens and Martin St-Louis.
