A controversial NHL player will join Ivan Demidov in the KHL
Ivan Demidov will play his final year of contract with the SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL this season.
This is a legendary organization in Russian hockey, often attracting former NHL players who join the team for a part of their careers.
Evgeny Kuznetsov has decided to leave the NHL to return to his home country and has signed a four-year deal with SKA.
According to several rumors, the controversial defenseman Tony DeAngelo might also leave the NHL to sign with this team.
DeAngelo has frequently been involved in various contentious situations related to his relationships with teammates and his behavior with coaches. He has even been dismissed by certain teams. Despite this, he continues to secure contracts as he remains a skilled player and offensive defenseman.
Demidov may thus spend the entire season alongside Tony DeAngelo.
The Canadiens' prospect is expected to play a significant role with SKA, as the Montreal organization has met with the Russian team to ensure Demidov's development is well managed.
We'll see how it all unfolds...
