This summer, Alex Burrows announced that he was stepping down from his role as assistant coach for the Montreal Canadiens to spend more time with his family.

However, he will remain involved with the organization as a player development advisor in Laval and will occasionally attend meetings with the management team.
For his replacement, names such as Guy Boucher, Bruce Boudreau, Bob Hartley, and Pascal Vincent have been mentioned, but according to Philippe Boucher, these speculations are inaccurate.
During a podcast with Tony Marinaro, he suggested that Martin St-Louis might take over the power play management, an area where Burrows had often been criticized.
Thus, it is possible that the Canadiens may choose not to hire a new coach, believing that internal resources are sufficient.
St-Louis, known for his offensive expertise, would be a natural choice to lead the special teams, and this decision would be widely approved. The situation remains to be watched.
