Here's a very interesting development surrounding a potential trade involving Jordan Harris with the Montreal Canadiens.
As we mentioned, Harris's name has been put on the trading block by Kent Hughes in recent days.
Due to the surplus on the blue line and the upcoming arrival of Lane Hutson, the GM of the Canadiens has informed teams that the 23-year-old defenseman is available.
According to backstage rumors, the Calgary Flames are a team to watch in the Harris case in Montreal.
They are interested in the defenseman, notably because of three departures in their defensive brigade, with Nikita Zadorov and Chris Tanev already traded, as well as the excellent Noah Hanifin who is expected to leave soon as well.
Given that the organization wants to undergo a quick rebuild, commonly called a "retool," Harris fits directly into their strategy for rejuvenation.
Although this might not happen by March 8th, the Flames are likely to come back during the offseason to acquire the Canadiens' defenseman.
