The Canucks clearly aim to create salary cap space based on the decisions they are making in this trade.
The Blackhawks would acquire two veterans along with a second-round pick.
The Canucks are likely working on another deal with this available cap space.
I'm hearing Chicago and Vancouver are working on a deal that would create cap space for the Canucks – potentially involving Ilya Mikheyev and the rights to Sam Lafferty, along with a second-round pick.
