The NHL Alumni Association has just announced the sudden passing of forward Sergei Berezin at the young age of 52.

Berezin played 502 career NHL games, accumulating 286 points throughout his career.
The Russian winger wore the Tricolore uniform during his sole season in Montreal in 2001-2002. He is particularly remembered for his time with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
"The NHL Alumni Association is heartbroken to learn of the sudden passing of Sergei Berezin at the age of 52.

Sergei was drafted in the 10th round of the 1994 NHL Draft by the @MapleLeafs. He soon displayed his spectacular play upon joining the Leafs in 1996, spending five seasons with the team.

Berezin later played for the @ArizonaCoyotes, @CanadiensMTL, @NHLBlackhawks, and @Capitals throughout his career. He totaled 502 regular-season games played, scoring 286 points.

In retirement, he enjoyed coaching youth hockey, playing tennis, and above all, spending time with his family.

We extend our deepest condolences to Sergei's family, friends, and former teammates during this extremely difficult time."
