Recently, we discussed the possibility of a transaction involving a goalkeeper between the Canadiens and the Hurricanes after Carolina placed veteran Antti Raanta on waivers. However, a recent development has just occurred.

According to the very reliable Pierre LeBrun, the Hurricanes are actively looking for a goalkeeper to fill their vacant position in the net. Apparently, the team seems to be looking for an urgent solution, as they have just signed a contract with the 34-year-old veteran goalkeeper, Aaron Dell.
Dell, without a contract since the beginning of the season, played last season in the AHL for the San Jose Sharks' affiliate team. He will now have a chance with the Hurricanes to show that he can be a temporary solution for the team.
He will therefore try to carve out a place where Jaroslav Halak failed a few weeks ago.
It is clear that this team is facing major difficulties in goal, but instead of taking radical measures to remedy this, they seem to be exploring alternative options.
