Some even suggested that the two general managers, Kent Hughes and Ken Holland, might soon find common ground. According to the earlier reports, the two had multiple conversations about a trade involving either Samuel Montembeault, Jake Allen, or even Cayden Primeau.

However, Pierre LeBrun, during his segment on BPM Sports, tempered fans' excitement by stating that, according to his information, there had been no recent talks between the two teams. Nonetheless, he left the door open by adding that discussions might occur in the coming days or weeks.

However, it's hard to determine who is correct in this matter, as all three insiders have excellent sources in the industry. Did Darren Dreger and Elliotte Friedman receive information that didn't reach Pierre LeBrun? It's quite possible.
