As the NHL trade deadline approaches rapidly, trade rumors are intensifying. In this context, Jimmy Murphy, the journalist covering the Boston Bruins, mentioned that General Manager Don Sweeney is actively seeking to acquire a forward who can play in the top-6, specifically a center.

Following the departures of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, the Bruins' depth at this position has weakened, leading Jim Montgomery to use Charlie Coyle and Pavel Zacha on his top two lines. Despite the good seasons both forwards are having, with 32 and 25 points respectively, the addition of a center who can contribute offensively would certainly help.

In a recent episode of TSN Insider, Darren Dreger provided major information regarding the American team and the Montreal Canadiens. According to him, Kent Hughes is doing everything in his power to find a trading partner for Sean Monahan, and the Boston Bruins are among the teams that could be interested in his services.
The association makes sense; Monahan, number 91 of the Canadiens, would be an excellent addition to the Bruins' lineup. He could play a significant role alongside attackers like David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand, while also being important on special teams. However, the idea of seeing Sean Monahan in a black and yellow jersey is admittedly a bit strange.
"In the latest episode of TSN Insider Trading, Darren Dreger reported that the Montreal Canadiens are doubling their efforts to trade forward Sean Monahan, a potential unrestricted free agent for 2024. Dreger also mentioned the Bruins as a team that could be interested in the 29-year-old Canadiens forward, who has a one-year contract of $1.98 million." - Via Jimmy Murphy

At 29 years old, the former Calgary Flame has scored 11 goals and 14 assists (25 points) in 43 games this season, despite primarily playing with third-line forwards. He has also amassed an impressive total of 504 points in 724 NHL games.
If Jim Montgomery makes a remarkable offer to the Blue-White-Red, would you be ready to see Sean Monahan in the uniform of our rivals?
