A few minutes before his second NHL game, Montreal Canadiens prospect Joshua Roy was with Pierre Houde on the Hockey360 show. The forward from Saint-Georges-de-Beauce also confirmed a very big piece of information regarding Kent Hughes' plan.
Indeed, he mentioned that he would participate in the team's next overseas trip, as the Canadiens will play their next three games on opposing rinks. This is undoubtedly excellent news for number 89, who will likely have the opportunity to play three additional games with the main club.
"It's going to be impressive to be able to hit the road and play away." - Joshua Roy
While many expected his time in the Bettman circuit to be short, especially due to the eventual returns of Tanner Pearson and Josh Anderson, everything seems to indicate that his audition could continue until the All-Star break next week.
Moreover, in the realm of good news, Joshua Roy stated that he feels more and more comfortable in the team's locker room, feeling like he has truly become a member of the Montreal Canadiens.
Although he was somewhat unnoticeable in his first two games, his potential is very promising. He will undoubtedly become an important member of the CH lineup in the coming years, as he has all the talent needed to transform into a top forward.
After all, it's normal for a young player to have some difficulties producing offensively right from the start, but his 30 points in 34 games in the American League clearly show he has the vision to terrorize opposing defenses in the near future.
Certainly, there is no doubt that this call-up will be greatly beneficial to him. These few games in Martin St-Louis' lineup will definitely give him a better idea of the aspects of his game he needs to improve to be successful in the NHL.
