It's no longer a secret that the phone of the general manager of the Montreal Canadiens is currently in high demand. He has reportedly initiated talks with various teams to finally resolve the goaltending trio situation.

At the beginning of December, Kent Hughes confirmed to journalists that he was open to hearing offers for his two goaltenders, Jake Allen and Cayden Primeau. Furthermore, according to Pierre LeBrun, the 33-year-old veteran Allen seems to particularly interest some teams in the Bettman league seeking consistency in goal.
However, it shouldn't be ruled out, albeit a potential mistake in our opinion, that the goaltender who may be traded soon is Cayden Primeau. The 24-year-old American goalie, still not having reached his full potential, could be an attractive option for a team that already has a solid number one.
An intriguing suggestion from an observer on Twitter, Bob Trask, has surfaced, proposing a trade of Cayden Primeau to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for the 23-year-old Quebecois forward, Raphael Lavoie.
"Would you trade Cayden Primeau for Raphael Lavoie? Both are struggling to secure a spot in their current team's lineup. Lavoie is a right winger, a year younger than Primeau." - Bob Trask

While it would be interesting to see how the forward could develop under Martin St-Louis, trading Cayden Primeau for a player who might never reach the NHL could be a significant loss for the Canadiens.
Selected in the second round of the 2019 draft, the Edmonton Oilers prospect possesses undeniable talent but has yet to secure a regular spot in the NHL. Some criticize his attitude and work ethic as insufficient, two characteristics that could greatly deter Kent Hughes in a potential trade.
This season, Lavoie got his first chance in the Bettman circuit but was unfortunately unable to score in six games. However, he accumulated 12 points, including nine goals, in 17 games in the American League with the Bakersfield Condors.
So, the question remains: Cayden Primeau for Raphael Lavoie, 1 vs 1, would you make this trade?
