The Quebecers tried to help the Golden Knights make a good playoff run. However, the Stars had other plans, and now Las Vegas must make some important decisions.
With salary cap constraints, the Golden Knights have a lot on their plate in the coming weeks.
According to David Pagnotta, the organization will not offer new contracts to Anthony Mantha and William Carrier, making them free agents come July 1st.
The first has failed to deliver since his acquisition from the Capitals. Carrier was part of the original Golden Knights team in 2017 and played seven seasons with the Nevada squad, including winning the Stanley Cup last year.
"Here's what we know so far: forwards Michael Amadio, William Carrier, and Anthony Mantha will not be returning to Las Vegas. All three are aware and plan to test the free-agent market on July 1st."

The same scenario seems to be unfolding with veteran defenseman Alec Martinez.
Carrier and Mantha could be interesting candidates for the Canadiens, don't you think?
Both players bring different qualities to the table, but Mantha would add an interesting offensive touch to the top 9, while Carrier is a robust and respected player throughout the NHL.
