Pospisil charged in and delivered a powerful hit to Marchand, with his elbow coming up near Marchand's head. This action triggered a melee, with all players on the ice getting involved in the subsequent scuffle.
After some time, the teams were eventually separated and returned to the game. As of the first intermission, the Bruins were trailing 2-0.
