Shocking Punishment Looming for Nikita Kucherov Following All-Star Game Embarrassment: He Appears to Have Lost His Shot at Winning NHL MVP

As you know, Tampa Bay Lightning star forward Nikita Kucherov was severely criticized for his simply embarrassing performance during last Friday's skills competition. Indeed, the NHL's top scorer made no effort, clearly demonstrating that this competition did not matter to him.
Several observers noted that it was a real shame for the Bettman circuit and a major disapproval for all the fans who paid a high price to attend that evening.

Moreover, the fans present at the Scotiabank Arena did not hesitate to boo him for his disappointing performance, a reaction that seemed to amuse the 30-year-old Russian forward.
However, according to Elliotte Friedman on his podcast "32 Thoughts", Nikita Kucherov could suffer the consequences. He believes that his unacceptable behavior could potentially cost him votes for the Hart Trophy, even though he is tied for the top spot in scoring (with Nathan MacKinnon) with 85 points in 49 games.
Furthermore, he believes that the actions of number 86 could prevent him from being selected for the All-Star Game in the future, a punishment that should not bother the Lightning forward too much, who clearly did not want to be there.
"People were saying 'He shouldn't win the Hart Trophy. What do Hart Trophy winners do? They go to the All-Star Game and they put on a show, right? Or at least, they try to make a show?" I don't think it should cost him votes, but I think it could. I think it's entirely possible." - Elliotte Friedman
This could therefore be very costly for Kucherov, especially since the Hart Trophy is undoubtedly the most prestigious individual honor in the NHL.
