Pierre-Luc Dubois is about to embark on a new adventure with the Washington Capitals in a few weeks.

His stint with the Los Angeles Kings was disappointing, to say the least. The Kings were left with a series of setbacks, including the trade with the Jets and the contract given to the Québécois.
After just one season, they decided to send him to Washington.
In the summer of 2023, there were persistent rumors about Pierre-Luc Dubois potentially leaving Winnipeg.
It's confirmed: the Canadiens were interested. In a comprehensive interview with Mathias Brunet of La Presse, Dubois discussed various topics, including the Canadiens' interest in him.
"We talked a bit, but in the hockey world, it's all about timing. It wasn't necessarily the right situation [for both parties], and Los Angeles was pushing hard.

Los Angeles seemed like the best option because they wanted me a lot."

In the end, it's clear that Kent Hughes likely made the right decision by withdrawing from negotiations with the Jets.
The Canadiens were probably not ready to offer him an 8-year contract with an annual value of $8.5 million.
Once again, things did not work out with the Kings. It was also the case, to some extent, with the Blue Jackets and the Jets. The ball is now in Dubois' court with the Capitals.
